Concrete Bear Paw Tablets
The creation of the cast concrete bear paw tablets was a labor of love. I shipped artist grade Plaster of Paris to Kamchatka by ocean freighter and on down to the base camp on Kambalnoye Lake by helicopter. Using freezing cold water I mixed the plaster out on the tundra to make casts of the tracks of the 3 orphan cubs and other bears. I flew the plaster casts back to Canada to create rubber molds in which to pour the concrete. The concrete tablets are 2” deep by two feet square and weigh approximately 50 pounds each. To change the grey concrete to the color of the original mud in which the bears walked, I coated the tablets with an acid which etched into the concrete w to give them coloration. The tablets are available on stands as a bas relief or as an element of a table stand.

Archival Digital Prints

My prints are digital reproductions of drawings or mixed media paintings printed on acid free water-color paper. The charcoal drawings reproduced as prints are all approximately 24”x36” in a limited edition of 160. Within the provenance of this Kamchatka grizzly series is a print run  on 8”x12”paper stock.

In color I ran a special archibal digital print titled “Ray Wells Spurs” on17”x 20” acid free water-color paper.
