Grizzly Seasons

Grizzly Seasons is a stunning array of photographs of these captivating and elusive creatures. Central to their project are three bear cubs – Chico, Biscuit and Rosie – who are rescued by Russell and Enns from a squalid Russian zoo. We also meet other wild grizzlies face-to-face, who over the years have come to embrace the couple’s presence. The bears thrive in a landscape of volcanoes and vast spaces, of salmon-rich waters and deep forest. The breathtaking images of Grizzly Seasons indelibly capture the essence of these majestic and playful creatures in harmony with nature.

Grizzly Kingdom

Grizzly Kingdom is a story of Maureen’s struggle to find bears in the wild, and to reveal on canvas and film this majestic symbol of a fragile wilderness.

When Canadian artist Maureen Enns set out to focus public attention on the grizzly bear she had no idea she would be embarking on a personal odyssey. Soon she was venturing into the remote backcountry of Alberta’s Banff National Park. Terrified at first, she discovered that these powerful animals were intelligent, caring, playful

Grizzly Heart

Grizzly Heart is the remarkable account of how Russell and Enns have defied the preconceptions of wildlife officials and the general public by living unthreatened – and respected – among the grizzlies of Kamchatka. At the core of the story is the couple’s adoption of three bear cubs left orphaned when their mother was killed by a hunter, and how they helped teach these cubs to survive in the wild.            Their project demonstrates that it is possible to forge a respectful relationship with these majestic giants, and provide compelling reasons for altering our ideas about bears.
