Canadian Artist: Maureen Enns, 1949- Investigative Artist/Conservationist
Alberta artist Maureen Enns, has gained renown for her conservation related work in Canada and abroad. Her work exists in significant public and private collections and she is the recipient of over 30 regional and national art grants and close to a million dollars of sponsorship assistance for her research.
In 2006, Maureen began exploring an equally misunderstood animal in Alberta – the wild horse. They coexist in small stable herds with wolves, grizzly and black bear and cows. She was featured in Wild Horses of the Canadian Rockies, a Pyramid Productions film in 2008. Her new book Wild Horses and Wolves at the Foot of the Canadian Rockies was released in June 2013.
